Gunnþór frá Dverghamri
Gunnþór is a flashy and stocky black pinto gelding that stands 13.3 hands. A special guy with a great career ahead of him, Gunnþór is a horse that can "do it all". He is a super trail horse, but also has the looks and talent to succeed in the show ring.
Gunnþór has excellent bloodlines. His sire, Álfur, is a highly evaluated first prize stallion with a 9.5 for tolt that has received the honor prize for the quality of his offspring. Álfur is now in Norway, so the offspring he had while still in Iceland are highly sought after. Álfur comes from probably two of the most famous horses in Icelandic horse breeding, the great honor prize stallion Orri frá Þúfu í Landeyjum and the superstar mare, ÁlfadÍs frá Selfossi. Gunnþór's dam, Hylling frá Selfossi, is also a first prize mare. All these exceptional genetics have come together to make Gunnþór a great riding horse.
Gunnþór is a easy-going guy that is calm and enjoyable to work with. He has had a lot of good training, is well-educated, and naturally very balanced in his gaits. He enjoys people and is friendly without being pushy. Always up for a cuddle! He is five gaited, with an easy, smooth, natural tolt with naturally high movements that will only continue to improve as he gains strength and maturity. His trot is easy, clear, and soft. His canter, smooth and easy. Flying pace is not trained at this point. Super fun on the trail now, he could also be a star in the show ring with his flashy gaits and looks. Gunnþór would be an ideal partner for an advanced beginner on up that wants a beautiful, special horse that they can enjoy now, and then can continue to grow with for many years to come.
