Lipurtá is a tall (14h), elegant, five gaited black mare. She is from the famous Efri-Rauðalæk farm in Northern Iceland that has produced many fine riding, sport, and breeding horses. Lipurtá is the total package - friendly, positive, pretty, and talented.

Lipurtá's bloodlines are quite impressive. Her sire, Símon frá Efri-Rauðalæk, is a first prize five gaited stallion that achieved an amazing 8.55 overall. He is also a successful sport competition horse in several classes. His sire was none other than the great honor prize stallion Galsi frá Sauðárkróki. Lipurtá's dam, Prinsessa frá Skúfsstõðum, is a second prize mare that has already produced some successful competition horses. Prinsessa was also the daughter of a well-known first prize stallion, Safír frá Viđvík. These proven bloodlines ensure that Lipurtá has solid genetic strength both as a riding and breeding horse.

Lipurtá is a true five gaited horse with all the gaits, though her flying pace has not formally trained yet due to her age. She has a wonderful, clear, smooth tolt that is easy to find and ride. She also has a large trot, and nice canter. Great gaits for trail riding - but also with the potential for showing. She has a nice medium amount of go and is responsive to the rider's requests. However, what is probably most special about this mare is her character. Even at a young age she is incredibly solid and calm and has a wonderful positive character. She is friendly, enjoys attention, and wants to be with people. She never acts "marish" and is always happy to work in the ring or out on the trail. In the herd she gets along with everyone and is easy to have in the barn. A real joy.

Lipurtá is experienced in the ring and out on the trail. She has also been used for lessons and is paitent with those that are learning. It's only due to her young age and her large movements (particularlly in trot) that she is not recommended for a total novice rider. But anyone with a little experience can enjoy her. She is also an excellent horse for someone to grow with because she has so much more talent and potential just waiting to be tapped (like a great, true flying pace!). She has also already had a very nice foal, so she could also be used for breeding.
